A Day for Baaoeños Overseas

It is a fact that a significant factor which brought about the development of Baao is the contribution of Baaenos Overseas thru their remittances from abroad. Yet they have remained unknown and have not been officially recognized by the community. The potentials for them to further assist the development of Baao remains untapped and under utilized. The absence of a formal linkage between the Baaenos overseas and their hometown and their non recognition for their efforts hinders their openly active participation. It is therefore necessary to create an event that will recognized their effort and establish a formal linkage with them. Thus “A DAY FOR BAAOENOS OVERSEAS”Is being proposed every 3rd Saturday of the Month of December. Such day will be devoted in recognizing the many contributions of the Baaenos Overseas and their potentials to help the development efforts of Baao. The event shall be organized by the Local Government Unit in Cooperation with the Sangguniang Bayan, Private, Business, Religious and Education Sector.

Baaenos Overseas shall be defined as a native of Baao who is presently working/staying abroad or has previously worked or stayed abroad either as a overseas worker, immigrant, tourist or are now citizens of their adopted countries, and have the intensions of helping their hometown.
