Located within the 4 th Congressional District of the Camarines Sur Peninsula , Baao is well known in the area as the “Tilapia Hatchery of Rinconada”, in the region as the “Egg Basket of Bicol” and generally regarded as “Religious Capital” of the Archdiocese of Nueva Caceres due to its output of numerous priests and nuns. Nationally, this town is widely recognized as the birthplace of the First Filipino Bishop Msgr. Jorge I. Barlin.
