MISSION

“To improve social protection and promote the rights and welfare of the poor, vulnerable and the disadvantaged individuals, family and community to contribute to poverty alleviation and empowerment thru SWD policies, programs, projects and services.’’

MANDATE

To provide assistance to barangays, people’s organization and other members of civil society in effectively implementing programs, projects and services that will alleviate poverty and empower disadvantaged individuals, families and communities.

 

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

  1. DAY CARE SERVICE            This is the provision of supplementary parental care to 0 – 5 years old children of parents who find it difficult to fully take care of their children during part of the day because of work or some other reasons. It has the following objectives: physical development, development of personal abilities, ability to handle human relations, development of creative and analytical ability, development of spiritual and social values, provision of comfort and safety
  2. CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICE. It is a set of programs and services designed to prevent abuse and exploitation among children or to provide treatment and rehabilitation to victims and survivors of exploitation.
  3. AFTER CARE SERVICE TO JUVENILES IN CONFLICT WITH THE LAW. The conduct of assessment and monitoring on the cases of CICL and appropriate services.
    • PARENT EFFECTIVENESS SERVICE/MOTHER’S CLASS. This service prepares parents to follow up their children learn in Day Care Service. Through this service, parents learn about child rearing, child growth and development, techniques and materials on early childhood enrichment, and the rights, duties and responsibilities of parents.
    • RESPONSIBLE PARENTHOOD/ FAMILY PLANNING. It refers to the programs and activities which refers to the will and ability of parents to respond to the needs and aspirations of the family and children. It is the primary right and responsibility of parents to get

actively involved in the promotion of their children’s well being through the provision of adequate care, attention and affection.

  1. PRE- MARRIAGE COUNSELING SERVICES. It contains basic information on the issues and concerns that usually confront newly married couples. The pre-marriage counseling sessions are designed to create awareness and appreciation thus enabling them to better handle situations involving such issues and concerns.
  2. NUTRITION INFORMATION AND EDUCATION. This applies to any communication system that conveys knowledge and persuades people to change their behavior toward effective childcare and better nutrition for the family. It is considered as the one  of the low-cost yet effective long-term interventions for prevention of malnutrition and promotion of good nutrition. It aims to empower families in fighting malnutrition problems existing in the community.
  3. SUPPLEMENTAL FEEDING. This is a promotive, preventive and rehabilitative intervention wherein ages 6-71 months whose weights are below normal are provided with the much needed calorie and protein.
  4. INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY COUNSELING. This is a short and long term, supportive, fairly intensive process focused on establishing client’s needs and helping her achieve them; evaluating the effectiveness with which others are addressing the client’s needs; providing skills for coping with situations and other people, helping client discuss the experience and helping them deal with it; and assessing and handling the emotional responses.
  1. CAPACITY BUILDING AND ENHANCEMENT FOR BRGY. COUNCILS, VOLUNTEERS AND SECTORAL GROUPS. The provision of trainings and capability building to barangay councils, people’s organization and volunteers along planning, implementation and monitoring of SWD programs and services for the disadvantaged groups.

PHILHEALTH SPONSORED PROGRAM. It is the provision of Medicare privileges to indigent population, as a supplement to its Medicare Program for the employed and individually paying sectors.
